POLARIS POINT, Guam (Sept. 10, 2013) -- Sailors and civilian mariners assigned to the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40) work together to pull a torpedo cage onto the boat. The cage is used to provide safe transport of an MK-48 training shape when lifted by crane. The MK-48 training shape was used during an over-the-side recovery exercise to train the team on torpedo recovery at sea. Frank Cable, forward deployed to the island of Guam, conducts maintenance and support of submarines and surface vessels deployed in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
